RFID
Exam Introduction: |
|
An individual's aptitude or certification in Radio Frequency Identification
(RFID) is currently governed by one testing organization, The
Computing Technology Industry Association or CompTIA.
CompTIA is a vendor-neutral IT testing organization, and is the
recognized standard for many testing technologies including; PC Hardware,
Networking, Servers, Internet, etc.
Any individual wishing to become certified in RFID must take the CompTIA
RFID+ exam (Code RF0-001) through an authorized
CompTIA testing center. Almost all, if not all-testing centers that
currently provide other CompTIA testing can provide the RFID+ exam as
well.
While CompTIA would like all participants taking CompTIA
exams to join its organization, it is not required to take the exam, or
to become
CompTIA RFID+ certified. However, by joining CompTIA, you may
enjoy discounted pricing on CompTIA "Quality Seal Approved"
training materials and exams, and be exposed to many CompTIA programs.
CompTIA, as well as some training
organizations, provide exam vouchers (basically gift certificates for taking the
exam), which can be purchased through their websites and redeemed at approved
testing centers. The current price for the CompTIA RFID+ exam as of
1/1/09 is $258.
Although, pre-purchasing vouchers are not required to take the exam.
RFID testing centers are located across the
United States and abroad. Traditionally, you will need to call a testing
center and arrange for a time to take the test. Depending on how busy that
particular testing center is, you may be eligible to take the test that same
day. Although if you have pre-purchased an exam voucher, you want to
confirm that the testing center accepts your voucher.
* In the event that you fail your first
(1st) attempt to pass any CompTIA certification examination, CompTIA
does not require any waiting period between the first (1st) and second (2nd)
attempt to pass such examination. However, before your third (3rd) attempt or
any subsequent attempt to pass such examination, you shall be required to wait
for a period of at least thirty (30) calendar days from the date of your last
attempt to pass such examination.
While CompTIA does not provide financial
assistance for training, exams or materials, you may be eligible for financial
assistance in any or all of these areas. Please review CompTIA
Quick Links (for financial assistance information) and the RFID
Exam Basics and Domain
Requirements page for a more detailed analysis of the CompTIA RFID+ exam.
Taking any test requires only one thing! You must resolve that you
are taking this test only ONCE! Prepare in OVERKILL!
