4-Day - Training Providers: |
|
4- Day - Training Providers are commercial organizations offering 4-day CompTIA RFID+ certified preparatory
courses. Below is a listing
of each:
 |
Commercial
Organizations: |
|
At present, the first two commercial training organizations listed below, RFID4U and
OTA
Training, are providing the majority of CompTIA RFID+ courses in
the United States. Although, Academia, based
in Montreal, offers some U.S. training, but mostly
international courses. Courses are taught directly by the listed provider, or in conjunction with another
training organization.
Many
times you'll see Fast Track or Boot Camps (2-3 day courses) at
expos or available on weekends
sponsored by another organization, however the foundation for training is
normally one of these three organizations.

| Synopsis: |
a |
| RFID4U is taking the RFID training
market by storm! They are cranking out new types of courses, course
curriculums, training materials and building alliances both nationally and
internationally. They have built partnerships with most of the big
names in the RFID marketplace including, Zebra, Siemens, Microsoft,
Symbol, Printronix, as well as training partners Omron, IDEA, and Venture
Research, Inc., among others. What does all this mean? I
have no idea! I have not attended any of their courses, however I
know that they are the author of many of the practice CD's (whose
importance I reference throughout this site), and that those questions
greatly mirror the CompTIA
RFID+ exam.
I await feedback please from
those who have taken their course(s) through Email
or the Forum.

| OTA Training is also making a very
strong push into the RFID training space. While their breadth of
courses does not equal RFID4U, it appears that they are concentrating on
the most important aspects of RFID, the Manager, the Installer & the
Certification Candidate. They have also forged
partnerships with such top RFID players as Avery Dennison, RFID
Journal, Sun, as well as training partners Lowry, New Horizons, among
others. Also, their book Exam Cram CompTIA RFID+ (to be
reviewed later on this site) has shown to be a very effective preparatory
tool. Again, I have not taken any of their courses.

| Synopsis: |
a |
| Academia seems to be taking a very smart approach to the RFID
training space, offering the first trilingual course catalog. All
training and materials are offered in English, Spanish and French. Courses cover the most important aspects of RFID, such as; RFID fundamentals,
RFID+ exam preparation, logistics, ROI, etc. They have partnered with
other large international organizations such as; Johnson & Johnson, HP,
EPCGlobal, Galderma, among others.
While at present, the number of courses and training locations seems
smaller then RFID4U and OTA Training, the variety in languages offers a unique
opportunity for rapid expansion. Again, I have not taken any of their
courses.
I await feedback please from
those who have taken their course(s) through Email
